The Simple Woman's Daybook

The Simple Woman\

FOR TODAY...November 2

Outside my window...sunshine and calmness, have the birds all gone away?  I do not see (or hear) a single bird.  Gone south already?  I will miss them...until

I am thinking...it is quiet in the house, everyone is still asleep

I am thankful for...God's daily provision

I am remembering...not much

I am going...to be doing housework, helping my son with school work, helping my husband prepare for a trip, and running some errands (later today)

I am reading...in the book of Eccelesiastes, taking a break today from John and Esther

I am hoping...for a peaceful and calm day

On my mind...too much!  I have such an active mind.  I think it needs to rest.  Just how do I make it do that?

From the learning room...all is quiet for now, it's still early

Noticing that...when it is quiet in the house, you can hear the traffic from the nearby highway

Pondering..."Do not be overrighteous, neither be overwise-- why destroy yourself?  Do not be overwicked, and do not be a fool -- why die before your time?  It is good to grasp the one and not let go of the other.  The man who fears God will avoid all extremes. -- Ecclesiastes 7:16-18 (NIV)

From the kitchen...all is quiet, keeping it simple today.  I would like to  make some cresent rolls and chicken salad, but I keep putting it off

Around the house...how I would like to not say housework needs to be done, so I just won't say it.  Let's just skip this one

One of my favorite things...seeing my children happy

From my picture journal

PS  I just saw a bird fly by.  I guess they are not all gone yet!

What is that a pond? Oh how lovely...I can imagine that you see alot of wildlife around the pond..I bet it is still there right now...and if we took a walk..we could hear silence..and leaves crunching beneath our feet..looks beautiful. I enjoyed your blog, and thank you so much for stopping by my place. Please come again..We have sparrows, I saw one this morning..they stay over winter...

Maybe the birds are sleeping in. I was wondering where they all were when we sat on the deck with a fire in the firepit last afternoon. I wondered if maybe they were having difficulty adjusting to the time change. Eventually, we saw Titmice, Chickadees, Cardinals, Doves. They are all still there, just hiding.
I like the photo.
Have a great week,
Mama Bear

Thanks everyone for stopping by.

Yes, Faith, it is a pond. It sits between our neighbors house and ours, offering a bit of privacy along with all the other blessings. It actually belongs to our neighbors. They have always been so sweet to let my children fish there (it's a small pond -- not to much catching goes on, but it offered a fun time). Our dogs use it on a regular basis in the summer to bath! I think we get more use from it than our neighbors do.

My son, BK, took the picture. He takes almost all my pictures for me. I'm not very camera savvy yet. He has a better eye for it than I do. I shared everyone's comments about the picture with him.

We have little snowbirds in the winter. I love birds. My 15 month old granddaughter loves birds. We take her on the deck to see them. Your picture to share is beautiful. It looks so peaceful. I hope you have a wonderful week. Doylene
