SMILE ~ You're On Candid Camera!

Okay ~ you're not on candid camera ~ I just  wanted to include a few things I thought might give you a smile!

This is a picture from our vacation to the mountains back in the fall. The day started out a bit rough as we picked up a nail in a tire within a few miles from our house and ruined our tire. My husband proceeded to change the tire with the spare we had (not fit to travel far on) and then called to see if we could get the tire fixed or replaced on our way. Fortunately, they were able to fit us in. After we had the tire replaced and were well on our way we all had a laugh as we saw this transfer truck pass us ~ notice the cargo strapped to the truck! My husband remarked that if we had not had the flat tire we would have missed seeing the truck.  That's what I call staying positive. We did all enjoy the sight and had our daily dose of medicine (laughter)!

A merry heart does good like a medicine: but a broken spirit dries the bones.
Proverbs 17:22

My husband gets a monthly letter from Insight for Living. A picture of this little sign was
in the letter. Any trouble understanding? Check out the next picture for help.

(This one is old and out of season I know, but I thought I would include it anyway.)

SMILE!

To Encourage

If you are finding yourself in need of encouragement, you might be interested in reading one of the books shown here. I have found all of these books helpful and insightful over the years. They are all wonderful resources that help remind us of God's love for us and of who we are in Christ. Actually they are good books to read anytime. May the Lord bless you and keep you! Have a wonderful weekend.

Simply Trusting

Lora (from Eager Hands)  shared a devotion from Streams in the Desert a few days ago that I thought I would pass along.  You can read it here. I hope you can take the time to stop over and read the whole devotion but if not I have included a poem that was shared below.

Trust and rest when all around thee
Puts thy faith to sorest test;
Let no fear or foe confound thee,
Wait for God and trust and rest.

Trust and rest with heart abiding,
Like a birdling in its nest,
Underneath His feathers hiding,
Fold thy wings and trust and rest.

If you would enjoy more devotions from Streams in the Desert check out this archive

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.  (Psalm 91:4)
For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.  I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah. (Psalm 61:3-4)

Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast. (Psalm 57:1)
