The Simple Woman's Daybook

The Simple Woman\

FOR TODAY...November 30

Outside my window...the sun keeps peeking through the clouds and then disappears.  The trees are starting to look bare, most of their leaves have fallen.

I am thinking...I am getting this daybook done much later in the day than usual.  Today has been very busy.

I am thankful for...a Heavenly Father who is always with me and protects me.

I am remembering...some words I read this morning:  "One person, one family, one small group, one church -- no matter how "insignificant" -- that is committed to seeking the Lord can become a part of the "awakened giant" that God will use to spread His glory and the fame of His Name throughout the world."   ~~ Nancy Leigh DeMoss, Tim Grissom (Life Action Ministries) from Seeking Him Experience the Joy of Personal Revival

I am going...to ask my children to help get the Christmas tree down soon.

I am reading...for an avid reader, I am finding that I am not reading much these days except my Bible and Bible study materials, and post of other bloggers.  I really need to find a good book to read.

I am hoping...to get this daybook finished before my husband gets here for lunch.

On my mind...lots and lots!

From the learning room...History is up next, but it will have to wait until after lunch.

Noticing that...the sun has peeked out again. Love that sunlight!

Pondering..."Break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the Lord, till He comes and rains righteousness on you" (Hosea 10:12, NKJV).

From the kitchen...chicken salad for lunch (used a simple recipe from Life in Skunk Hollow site).  We have already enjoyed this once and will have the leftovers for lunch.

Around the house...my son wants to learn to play the ukulele.  He is listening to someone performing on one.  Interesting. Our dogs seem to be enjoying the sunshine also.  The washing machine is tumbling and the computer is humming.

One of my favorite things...pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting.

Don't forget to leave a comment if you would like to enter the Christmas Bow Giveaway for two free bows (I will announce the winner sometime after noon on December 1).  I have won two giveaways since I have been blogging.   I would like to bless someone else.  I believe blessings should be passed along when possible!

My granddaughter made a pumpkin cream cheese cake for Thanksgiving. It was so good. It will be fun decorating for Christmas. I hope you have a wonderful week. Doylene

I LOVE chicken salad. I've not tried this one that Julie posted, but I've tried dozens of others. I've pretty much not met a chicken salad that I didn't like!!

Nancy Leigh DeMoss is so wise and encouraging. I haven't read or heard anything from her for quite some time. I just connected with her blog though so hopefully I will gain some wisdom from her.
