The Simple Woman's Daybook

The Simple Woman\

FOR TODAY...December 28

Outside my window...it is dark, very dark with the exception of some light piercing the darkness from the light poles and a few windows around the area.

I am thinking...about my sister, she lost a friend Christmas Day to cancer.  I think the funeral is today.

I am thankful for...life, friends, fresh air, and Jesus, to name a few!

I am remembering...that death is no respecter of age.

Also, something I read from Seeking Him The Joy of Personal Revival this morning:
"The purpose of repentance is not to make us feel better about ourselves but to restore us to a right relationship with God, so that our lives may again bring glory to Him and be used for His purposes."

I am going...back to sleep maybe, I woke up way to early and I'm getting sleepy again.

I am reading...my Bible and Seeking Him The Joy of Personal Revival.

I am hoping...to make some permanent changes in some of my habits.

On my mind...my husband.  He will be getting up soon for work.

Noticing that...the heat just came on and in a few minutes I will feel some nice, warm air blowing on me ~ I am sitting right by the vent.

Pondering...how to make choices and apply wisdom without becoming legalistic in attitude and action.

From the kitchen...I think my body is in a sugar revolt!  We have so many holiday goodies left but I think I am ready for a nice bowl of homemade vegetable soup.

Around the house...it is quiet, everyone is still asleep.  The quietness allows the opportunity to quiet my mind and concentrate on some things that God and I are mulling over.

One of my favorite things...snow, but we see so little of it here.  I wish it would snow!

From my picture journal

No, it is not snow, but the frost does make a lovely picture.

It's a veggie soup sort of day, isn't it?

I hope your day's been blessed!

It certainly is a veggie soup sort of day! I think all of us are craving the simple comforts after the festivities - a good book, a warm spot to snuggle down for a read, a nourishing meal - the things that make a life! ;)

Thanks for stopping by my Daybook, Patty - I am using my blog to keep myself accountable - in word and deed. And, perhaps, in photos!

Have a wonderful week - Kathy

I enjoyed your blog. I wish I had some Christmas goodies to eat. They seem so much better than regular snacks. The book you are reading sounds great. Have a wonderful week, Doylene
