The Simple Woman's Daybook

The Simple
Woman\

FOR...June 29, 2010

Outside my window...the sun is shining and I think it is going to be a hot day ~ not much surprise there!

I am thinking...about something I watched on Prairie Flower Farm last week. It was a tribute to Ruth Graham when she died. How God reminds us of what we need and what is best. I have sung this song for days. It is so, so easy for the world with all it offers to pull at us, but God reminds us of where our center needs to be. I want all my desires to start with Jesus. With Him as the priority and center, He can expand or narrow everything else. Yes, give me Jesus! Stop over and listen, you will be blessed ~ Give Me Jesus by Fernando Ortega (scroll down just a bit).

I am thankful...for the patience that God exhibits with His children.

I am remembering...not much right now.

I am going...to take care of the daily and maybe work on some of the quilting blocks I picked up during the shop hop.

I am reading...my Bible.

Noticing that...I am still drowsy this morning. I think I could go back to sleep for a while.

Pondering..."Give Me Jesus".

From the kitchen...I plan to make a big pot of vegetable soup. Not usually something I do in the summer when it is so hot, but I am looking forward to having a bowl.

One of my favorite things...seeing something unexpected and enjoying the beauty of it. I just remembered the beautiful sunrise that I saw while on the plane back from Peru to Atlanta. I wanted to wake the person in the next seat, but I knew the individual had not slept very much and needed rest.
