Today In History
We received a publication from Life Action Ministries a few days ago. I have been struck by a quote that was shared in one of the articles ~ "We will not and must not be either outraged critics or opportunists, but must take our share of responsibility for the molding of history in every situation and at every moment, whether we are the victors or the vanquished" by Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Does it not add power to the quote because we know the outcome of his life? How much is said about humanity in this one quote. How easy it is to speak but take no action. How temptation that stems from greed, a desire for power, or another vice can draw us away from what is honorable and right! I recently asked a friend of mine if one could pray for God to send forth laborers into His harvest and be unwilling to go yourself. There is a place to labor and many of us are called to labor in multiple places. For some it may be to bow in prayer. For most we start with family and extend our work where God leads. How often lately God has reminded me that ALL His work is important. We tend to think that the person who is working in a third world country among the poor has the greater work. God has emphasized to me His love for all mankind and His desire to reach them. We are important to God, our neighbors are important to God, our children are important to God, our friends are important to God, our families are important to God, people connected to us through business or other happenings are important to God. Do you see how vast the fields are? They cover the world! The work is great and He chooses to use us. The fields are white unto harvest. What and where is your responsibility today in molding history? Love that baby, teach that child, honor your husband, love your wife, share your testimony, pray for the lost, teach Awanas, read your Bible, cook, clean, be creative, share your talents, manage well, pastor the flock, share with the poor, invest in a ministry, vote, etc. etc. etc. There is no shortage of work! This is our time in history ~ we must be responsible!

Dear Patty ~ Thank you for sharing this quote. And, thank you for sharing your heart. It is a blessing to know that the LORD has us in this place at this time...may we do everything for HIS glory alone!! As for witnessing to others, I have found it to be a wonderful thing to just pray that the LORD would put opportunities in my path, and that HE would help me take those opportunities to share HIM. You know what? HE answers that prayer! And, it comes about so naturally. Isn't HE Good?? Have a wonderful day my friend. :)
Many Blessings,
Camille
Patty,
It's been close to fifteen years since I've seen a Life Action magazine. Thank you for sharing the quote. My responsibility to the world we are in lays heavy upon me at times. It's easy to think I should be doing more, but I try to remind myself that I still have two children at home to see to adulthood.
Blessings,
Patricia
