"Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise." (Hebrews 10: 35-36) What a wonderful verse of encouragement. I do not persevere well. I get easily discouraged. I think this whole year God has been trying to tell me that I need to learn to persevere. I need to stop giving up so easily and keep on, especially when things get rough.
Progress not perfection! This is a word of encouragement that I came across in connection to weight loss. I have been going to Weight Watchers with my older sister for almost two months. I must admit it has been a struggle and it seems like two steps forward and one step back or even worse many times. We do not plan on giving up as we both know that it takes time to create new disciplines and get rid of old habits. So, I am keeping the "progress not perfection" in mind so that when I stumble in this I do not give up but remember that a victory is progress even though there are losses mixed in.
I am loving the fall weather. It is so invigorating. Fall is a favorite time of the year for me. I love the cool breezes and the falling leaves.
We were in New Orleans over the weekend and went to a conference session where a doctor shared information with us about being healthy. Probably something we have all heard before but if you are interested you can find the information here - http://andrewfclarkemd.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/site.content/mode/dtl/type/41297/post/47485.cfm. As he pointed out our goal should be prevention of disease.
Hope you are all doing well. Have a blessed day!

Hang in there Patty! Yes, two steps forward and one back is common in the weight management department. :) Have you heard of "Trim Healthy Mama"? It might be something you and your sister may be blessed by. I have found it to be liberating to learn a few things from these sisters. I am not familiar with them in every area of life, but, I have enjoyed their approach to eating for health. No starving involved...yippee! :)
Blessings to you!
Camille
I pray that you will reach your goal weight in the Lord's time. I've been wanting to get that book that Camille recommended, too. May God be with you as you flex your persevering muscles! Blessings to you, Jackie
Stopping in to say *hello* and to let you know that I appreciate you. Thank you for your kind friendship. XO
