Just Be My Friend

A long time friend of mine sent me an email that contained the following:
 

Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow.
Don't walk behind me,  I may not lead.
Just walk beside me and be my friend.

Could we give this blessing to our friends?  Could our friends give this blessing to us? Just be my friend.

(A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly:  and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24)
