As we were visiting with my mom yesterday, my sister told me that the new quilting, shop hop magazine was out. We were both excited and I had to stop on my way home and pick up a copy. I always enjoy the shop hop editions. I like seeing all the different shops and all the ways they display the products in their stores. I enjoy the quilts, the stuffed animals, all the bags, and so much more. It's just a delight. So, I have browsed through the magazine a few times now and will probably sit down shortly on the couch and read about the different shops and absorb all that beauty.
I am especially excited that my sister-in-law and my brother have opened up a new quilting shop! Although it is about an hour and a half drive from where I live, I look forward to heading that way once a month and participating in some of the classes they will be offering.
Some of you who have dropped in before know that my mom, my sisters, and I had started learning to quilt together but the quilt shop where we were going closed. I was very disappointed. Now we can start again. I am having to squelch my desire to get started on something this month because I already have other commitments that I need to spend time preparing for and carrying out. Hopefully, sometime early June we will be able to get something going. So, I am looking forward. Now on to reading that magazine!

I just started some quilting and hope to do more in the years to come. It's fun just browsing shops and looking at magazines too. My neighbor actually got me interested and someone gave me a sewing machine. I had NEVER thought about quilting before in my life. It's fun, when I have the time.
I love quilts although it isn't something I've really taken up as a hobby. I tried it but decided I like having quilts more than actually making them myself.
I sew quite a bit but haven't made a quilt in 3 years or so. I adore quilts - all the different patterns and beautiful fabrics. My husband's grandmother gave us a hand quilted double wedding ring quilt as a wedding gift many years ago. It is one of my prized possessions.
I started quilting when I was pregnant with my son. I managed to make 4 quilts while as was pregnant and haven't done it since. I kept all the stuff because I'm hoping I'll have time one of these days again. I think it would be a fun homeschool project when the kids get older.
